Bizarre @ Cargo

The comedian of Hip-Hop has hit London with his unmissable appearance and crazy rhymes, promoting his new album ‘Hannicap Circus’. The definition of this man’s name sums him up both musically and personally: Bizarre. He started his music path with rap group The Outsiderz and then released his solo album, ‘Attack Of The Weirdos’ in ’98 before joining the Dirty Dozen, D12. After gaining his reputation as ‘the weird one’, Bizarre has been working on his next solo project and has given London a taste of his extraordinary talent.

A big pink furry coat was the first glimpse of Bizarre. Along with his black shower cap with a duck at the front, his costume wasn’t surprising! ‘D12 World’ was one of the opening tracks along with the tune that presents Bizarre to the fullest, ‘American Psycho’. Bizarre kept the crowd entertained with conversations on the lines of, ‘Who smokes? Who takes drugs? Who likes sex?’ He then takes what looks like a pill and the beat starts to ‘Purple Pills’. At this point the crowd are on the same high as he is, bumping and rhyming to the well-known tunes along with more chart hitting tracks such as the comical ‘My Band’ and hard-hitting ‘Fight Music’.

Bizarre had taken his spotlight from D12 and brought us to his own new sounds. Expect ‘Hannicap Circus’ to be full of crazy jokes and gritty reality biting rhymes. Hearing these tracks directly and upfront by the man himself showed that this unusual act is more than just a joker, he’s a clown! ‘Hip-Hop’ was a great track performed and ‘Doctor Doctor’ left the crowd singing the mad hook. Bizarre also took us back to the days when Friday was ‘A Bad Day’. Taken from the movie soundtrack and originally performed by Ice Cube, Bizarre remixed this classic tune and turned it into something new.

Jaws dropped and eyes popped open when Bizarre decided to strip down to his pants, even the shower cap came off exposing his red hair! The heat from the hyped up crowd could’ve had us all doing the same! Then just as we thought he was about to go gospel, ‘Gospel Weed Song’ started to play proving there is a Hip-Hop bible out there! The night was coming to an end and time for the finale, his new single  ‘Rockstar’, which includes the lyrics: “Where’s Marshall? Who the hell cares! Bizarre’s on stage shaking his derier. I’m a rock star!” Which proved that Mr. Slim Shady isn’t the only one who can rock the mic without his band!

Bizarre had the crowd involved in his performance from the beginning to the end. Cracking jokes, telling stories and teasing his fans with handshakes, this man is not only riddled with talent but a fantastic entertainer with a huge personality. D12 was just the beginning for Bizarre; his twisted persona is taking Hip-Hop to another level.  It was an exceptional night hosted by a bizarre but gifted artist blessed with unique talent.
