The young Chris Brown has released his debut self-titled CD. It would be cliché to say that his debut is impressive, but that's exactly what it is. His CD is a very impressive start to what has all of the makings of a long career in the music industry, especially when he sings with such tenacity in his voice.

The album opens with a brief intro, where Chris pays homage to his home town of Tappahannock, Virginia, and is followed by the popular single ‘Run It’ featuring Juelz Santana - a track which I think has the potential to make a big comeback this summer, especially with the heavy bass pumping from your car stereo. This was followed up by the official second single, ‘Yo (Excuse Me Miss)’, which has proven to be pretty popular here in the UK. ‘Young Love’ is a real laid back cut, whilst ‘Give Me That’ is a decent album track.

One of the biggest songs on the album is ‘Ya Man Ain't Me’, which would have been the logical second single since it might resonate with more listeners. This song really has the appeal of a wide listening audience and music lovers of all ages would enjoy this song. ‘Ain't No Way’ is another really hot song on the album, whilst ‘Poppin’ and ‘Just Fine’ are equally impressive, with tight production on both songs. The CD also includes the ‘Run It (Remix)’ featuring Jermaine Dupri and Bow Wow. Yet, this song falls short of capturing the magic of the Juelz Santana version, and sounds like it’s just a CD filler; nothing special at all.

Upon listening to Chris Brown's debut album, you will think about a young Usher or Mario - which isn't at all a bad thing, as it's really an album that any music lover can appreciate.

Chris Brown has proven with his debut that he is not just another teen singer. One good thing about this album is that it is an R&B album through and through; there aren't featured rappers on every single. This CD can be listened to on repeat or shuffle without wanting to skip any tracks - a big thing to say about any album.

With a ridiculous fan base of screaming girls, a record-breaking debut single and a good team on his side, Chris Brown has proven that he is the next big thing in R&B music.
