Bone Crusher - AttenCHUN!

The instant 'King Kong' AKA Bone Crusher arrives on the scene, you know you are in for an Hip Hop onslaught. The working title for his debut album is AttenCHUN, and this native Atlanta soldier definitely wants yours! Jermaine Dupri has taken the young grinder under his wing and produced an attention-grabbing album. In 1985 Bone Crusher begun to realise he wanted to be a rapper. As with many, Run-DMC ignited the fire in side the Crusher. "At the time I used to try to DJ. I was pretty good at it, but I wasn't as good as everybody else. I could always rap better than all the rappers that rapped. I could always freestyle better."

Bone Crusher blasts out of the studio to showcase his skills with the merciless first track "Lock & Load" and the devastation begins. This gives way to the track which holds the album together, "Never Scared" featuring Killer Mike and T.I. This track has become an instant hit and an anthem to many if not all Hip Hop heads. Once you get past "Never scared" the offering does lose its way a bit and begins to look for interludes from Jermaine, and flatter beats with the only respite coming from the lively vocal release of Crusher. This manages to keep things moving along with guest cameos from Dupri, Lil' Jon, and Goodie Mob.

The main essence of the album is to get Bone Crusher to give you anthems in "Puttin In Work", "Back Up" featuring Dru, "For the Streets" and "It's me (Lane To Lane)" featuring Lil' Jon & Chyna White. These tracks keep the debut hyped. Keeping with that straight up gansta feel is the track "Grippin The Grain" featuring Lady Ice and Marcus which is more than a contender for his next single due to its grimy beat and powerful lyrics.

The debut album from the Break 'Em Off/So So Def/Arista joint is a complex ride throughout an assortment of subjects. Bone Crusher's energetic and raw edge is what you cling to on this album, although it does seem to meander along a touch. Even die hard fans will be hard pressed to find anything fresh and unexpected on this album which results in you feeling that you missed out on something. His loud and brash exterior is something which he plays heavily on and manages to give a street element to the Atlanta faithful and simply proves he will be never scared.
