Irv Gotti Presents... Murderers II : The Inc is the latest release on Murder Inc/ Def Jam Records. The album is a mixture of dark, angry gangster rap and soulful Rnb tracks. I was a little unsure of an album which featured J-Lo on one of it's numbers, but any album with 'Murder Inc' in the title was bound to be descent. The intro sets the tone, then 'Gangstafied', 'It's Murder', 'Ride Wit Us', 'Here We Come', 'We Still Don't Give A F**k, follow with similar sounds of heavy sounds, moody beats and aggessive rhymes. Featuring the likes of Ja Rule, Caddillac Tah and the menacingly smooth Chink Santana. This is pure gangsta s**t. Whilst RnB has never been my first choice in music, the RnB tracks on this album have gone some way to changing my mind. The beats are heavier and the sounds are fuller. 'Down for U', the next release from the album, out mid August, has all the ingredients for chart success. It is followed by tracks like 'The Pledge' and the massive hit 'Ain't It Funny' with J-Lo, which save the album from sounding too samey. No One Does It Better, with Ashanti, Vita and Charlie Baltimore, breaks the mould of the rest of the album, a sort of hip-pop tune, which is not only catchy but produced well and helped along by the excellent Charlie Baltimore. Check out the Skit between '1 Hearse, 2 Suburbans' and 'Ain't It Funny', it will have you in stiches. The Rain also stands out with a deep soulful feel, slowing down the pace of the album, without compromising it's dominant more uptempo sound. While Gotti manages to produce distinctive beats, at times the production becomes a little over used. All in all, this is a solid album with some excellent tracks. Personal Favorite Tracks: 3. Down

3 out of 5
