| P Diddy and his Hit Men production crew are back on the scene to give a remix album of tracks he has written from his previous album along with various mainstream tracks recently produced. Sean “P Diddy” Combs however, isn’t the standard remixer. In fact, the hip hop mogul would not only alter the beat of a track but re-write it and recruit new vocalists. Sean Combs last album, released around 2001, was, 'P Diddy and the Bad Boy Family', which was a hyped partial success which gave shine to the Bad Boy artists, G Dep, Carl Thomas, Loon and others. This album kicks off with, Special Delivery, a track which is a remix to 94’s Craig Mack track, ‘Flava in Ya Ear’. The track features Wu Tang Clan member, Ghostface Killah, G Dep and Craig Mack. Track 3 is I Need a Girl Part 2, which accommodates Loon, Mario Winnans, Ginuwine and of course P Diddy. This was the second major release off the album, which was a head moving, fast paced record. The next track is the remix to 'Bad Boy for Life', featuring Diddy, Busta Rhymes and M.O.P. Personally I prefer the original version, but this one isn't too bad. I Need a Girl part 1 sees the next guest vocalist Usher on the mic. This is the first single to be released, and compared to Part 2, is a much slower, more soulful love orientated record. Diddy ressurects the Late Great Biggie Small’s on this album, putting one of his verses on the Ashanti single, Unfoolish, which also used the Biggie track sample from 'Im F**king You Tonight'. ‘Southern hospitality’ is present on the, 'Peaches and Cream', remix which features Ludacris and Rocafella artist, Beanie Siegel over the 112 hit. Mary J Blige and Diddy reunite to make an impressive, upbeat remix to No More Drama. Notorious BIG is present once again, on one of my favorite tracks, Woke up in the morning, by singer Carl Thomas. The last record is the remix to Faith Evans, You Get No Love, featuring G Depp. A quality track, once again. In my opinion, classic cuts which he has produced, that should have made the album include, 'Victory' featuring Notorious B.I.G, P Diddy and Busta Rhymes and, 'I Love You Baby featuring Black Rob. Overall, I feel, Diddy has overcome criticism to give an album which contains a fine array of r’n’b and hip hip tracks. 3 out of 5 Favorite tracks Woke Up in the Morning Return to Latest Reviews or select review by artist or Soundtrack, A-Z.
