7 years after his last release, 'Adrenaline Rush', Chicago Town native, Twista is back to give the rap world a hyped up album which has shot straight to number one in the 'Billboard Chart', moving Outkast's 'Speakerboxxx / The Love' Below to the number two position. Despite his low key presence in the rap world, Twista, whose original name was Tongue Twista, has dropped rhymes on tracks for the likes of Jay Z, Ludacris, P Diddy, Missy Elliot, Trick Daddy and 112. In 1993, he was also placed in the Guinness Book of Records, under the title of World’s Fastest Rapper.

Guest rap spots on his latest release, entitled, 'Kamikaze', include the likes of Ludacris, 8 Ball, Memphis Bleek and more, whilst Cee Lo, Anthony Hamilton, R Kelly and Jamie Foxxx, bless the album with their soulful vocals. Production credits come from the likes of Dirty South producer Jazze Pha (Bow Wow’s - ‘Lets Get Down’) and buzz worthy producer Kanye West, (Jay Z - 'H to the Izzo').

The album blows up with the first two tracks, 'Get Me' and 'Kill Us All', which see, Twista start, where he left off, displaying his famous tounge twisting delivery. Track 3 is the player’s anthem of the album, ‘Pimp On’ featuring, 8 Ball and Too Short.

The first release of the album is, 'Slow Jamz', which features comedian and singer, Jamie Foxx, and Kanye West. This is one of my favorite love orientated hip hop records around at the moment. The track reminds me of a much slower version of the Jay Z track, ‘Excuse Me Miss’.

'Overnight Celebrity', is also a decent track, followed by ’Still Feels Good’, yet another impressive track, where Jazze Pha sings the hook. Track seven, 'Drinks', sounds suspeciously like a Snoop Dogg and Nate joint. 'Badunkadunk', is a tribute to women with Big behinds, whilst the following track, nine, 'One Last Time', goes all gangster. Next is 'So Sexy' featuring R.Kelly. In my opinion this should be Twista’s next single. Very nice. Track eleven, 'Higher', is another club banger and features Disturbin Tha Peace artist Ludacris. 'Snoopin' follows, and is yet another tight track. This guy is doing really well. There are some nice male vocals on this one. The CD sleeve doesn't mention who's singing on it though...Strange?*#

Just when I thought he was on a good role, track thirteen, 'Like A 24 featuring T.I. & Liffy Stokes' drops. This is yet another A** track. It's just tacky. 'Hope', which features soul artist Cee-Lo, is a good testament to the tragic events of various rap and Soul legends, which shows a different side of Twista, as he talks about the state of the world through his eyes. 'Sunshine', featuring Anthony Hamilton, uses the Bill Withers chorus to the old school classic, 'Lovely Day'. This one is slightly corney for me, but some may like it.

The album wraps up in brilliant style with an excellent track, 'Art and Life', featuring The Rocafella soldiers, Memphis Bleek, Freeway and Young Chris each giving it their all. Overall, this album appears to have had a lot of effort put into it. The majority of tracks are above board and well produced. Twista finally seems set on achieving some commercial success, and after seven year gap has produced an album which should have true hip hop heads satisfied.
